Hello. I am Naomi, I am a friend and coworker of the loverly SarahJean. I don't know what to say here. This will be a new, exciting experience for me. I never really had too many girlfriends due to who knows why. I blame it on marrying young. I got married at age 22 but have been with this man since I was 15 so that didn't leave a whole lot of room for lady friends when all I wanted to do was talk on the phone to my betrothed. My hubby and I moved away from our home state and that also prevented serious girlfriendships. So needless to say, THANK YOU! Thanks for thinking of me and opening your arms to me.

Welcome, welcome, Naomi! You should meet Sharon (syf), one of the other moderators who married young as well and who has Strong Beliefs about how valuable friendships are to married folk. She's the one with the impressive verbosity and generous heart, and she'll probably be nosing around here soon to welcome you, too.

I also married young (at 21) and can testify to the great wealth of long, gorgeous, female friendships. Don't be too hard on your marriage, dear one! It needn't cancel out an ability to cultivate relationships with girlfriends---and we're honoured to be test subjects as you try finding out how marriage and girl friends can share the same living space in your heart.
